Carol
After years of crazy, busy schedules raising two girls, I am thoroughly enjoying being an empty nester and feel I finally have time to commit to causes that matter to me. I am an official RAKtivist (Random Acts of Kindness) and enjoy doing small, often anonymous things to brighten someone's day. Fighting Sarcoma is important to me because it affected someone very dear to me and one of the most important people in my life. I wanted to hide from it but decided a much better approach is to do what I can to help those affected by it. I am excited to be part of the FINISH Sarcoma Team!

My son, Tag, was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma when he was just five years old. He had 2 surgeries and 37 radiation treatments. We are happy to report that he has been cancer free for over six years! I decided to become part of the FINISH Sarcoma Team to help other families who are battling this terrible disease. Together, I believe we can find a cure to beat Sarcoma!

After a very dear friend lost his 5 year battle to Sarcoma in 2013 and experiencing the terrible effects this rare cancer had on he and his family, then learning that yet another friend was battling the disease, I felt the need to get involved and help make a difference for others affected by this horrific illness. Together we can increase awareness and offer support to families and patients in need. I am honored to be a part of the FINISH Sarcoma Team!
Lisa
As a co-founder of FINISH Sarcoma, my goal is to connect with others facing this rare type of cancer. I am a survivor of neurofibrosarcoma (since April 25, 2006)! This battle was the hardest thing I ever experienced. Meeting and helping others facing sarcoma is not only an honor but a privilege that I choose to embrace! I look forward to working with everyone who chooses to support our cause & continue meeting new people along the way.

I joined the FINISH Sarcoma Board because this very rare disease changed my family’s life forever in May 2009. I am not the patient, but am coming to this group from a caretaker’s perspective. In conjunction with the other board members, my hope is to continue to increase awareness and support patients and families who have been diagnosed with sarcoma.
Nora
A co-founder of FINISH Sarcoma, I have been battling sarcoma since 2008 when I was diagnosed with a solitary fibrous tumor. Treatment included radiation, followed by a very delicate and long surgical procedure with complications. In 2010, I developed a distant lung metastasis, which required additional surgery to repair the abdominal wall. I support FINISH Sarcoma’s focus to provide support to patients and families, to increase awareness, and to fund research for this rare cancer. I try to remain active and enjoy spending time with family, friends and my pets.
