RFA – Robert (Age 16) – *approved/completed* 09/04/2018

Submitted 08/23/2018

DIAGNOSIS: ewing scaroma

DATE OF DIAGNOSIS: 4/13/2018

PHYSICIAN: Dr. Christina Pratilas

HOSPITAL: Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD

THE NEED:
As a result of Robert’s diagnosis of ewing scaroma, we have purchased wheelchairs, walkers, portable toilets, crutches and other items to assist him in his recovery from surgery in removing his tumor. We purchased a ramp to allow Robert to access our house with a wheelchair and added a chair lift to allow Robert to use his bedroom on the second floor of the house during his recovery from surgery when he is unable to walk these steps. We have incurred both hotel and travel expenses getting second opinions on Robert’s medical treatment from Sloan Kettering and MassGeneral. In addition, we have incurred hotel expenses while staying in Baltimore during Robert’s in-patient stays at Johns Hopkins during his chemotherapy treatments and his recovery from surgery.
